Developed initially by Saunders-Roe as the P-531, the helicopter
was placed in production by Westlands who took over Saunders
-Roe in 1959. This five-seat utility helicopter was ordered for the
British Army as the Scout AH.1, entering service in 1963, a total
of 150 being built.A variant was built for the Royal Navy for shipboard anti
-submarine duties as the Wasp HAS.1. This featured quadricycle
landing-gear and folding main rotor blades and tail section to
facilitate shipboard stowage. 98 were built for the Royal Navy
and small numbers were supplied to the Navies of Brazil, The
Netherlands, New Zealand and South Africa.This CD contains the flight manuals for the Saro P-531,
Westland Scout and Westland Wasp. This CD has been
copied from the original flight manuals and retains any colour
pages.
