TUPOLEV
TU-144
![]()
Visually similar but slightly larger than its European rival
the Concorde , the Tupolev TU-144 first flew in 1968, two
months before the Concorde. Despite the differences, the
aircraft never lived down the suspicions of espionage.A well-know crash of a prototype at the 1973 Paris Air show
was a severe set back to the program. The aircraft entered
service in 1977, two years after Concorde, but this aircraft
had significant differences from the original prototypes.Commercial service only lasted a few months as there was
no real market in Russia. The 16 aircraft eventually built
remained only as oddities or research aircraft. This CD contains the Russian flight manual and several
other manuals for the Tupolev TU-144, in Russian.
