S-51 - Developed directly from the VS-361A (XR-4) which was
probably the worlds first true production helicopter, the S-51
first flew in 1946. 220 were built for civil and military use
(designated H-5, HO2, HO3), with a further 139 built under
licence in England.

S-55 - The first transport helicopter to receive approval for
commercial operations, the 7 - 10 passenger S-55 first flew
in 1949. 1280 examples were built for civil and military use
(designated H-19, HRS, HO4S) after 10 years of continuous
production. Operated by several air arms and also
manufactured under licence in England.

S-58 - Designed as longer range heavier successor to the S-55,
the S-58 fiirst flew in 1954 and was in continuous production
until the mid 1960's. Over 1500 were built in the US, with others
being manufactured under licence in both England and France.
It served with all US military services (designated HSS, H-34)
and several other military air arms.

3. US Navy NATOPS Flight handbook for the UH-34D UH-34G
    UH-34J, NAVWEPS 01-230HCB-1 dated 15-3-64 revised to
    1-5-65, approx 140 pages.
