RUSSIAN WW2

Flight Manual for the Yakovlev YAK-3  Flight Manual for the Lavochkin LA-5
Flight Manual for the Tupolev TU-2

This CD contains three flight manuals for Russian WW2
combat aircraft.

The first is for the YAK-3. Designed to the smallest possible
dimensions to minimise drag, the YAK-3 first flew in 1943.
Entering service in 1944 the aircraft proved highly
manoeuverable and achieved a very high score rate
against German aircraft in the latter part of WW2.

The second is for the Lavochkin LA-5. This aircraft was a
development of an earlier all-wooden design produced by
replacing the existing in-line engine with the complete radial
powerplant from the SU-2. The result was an aircraft able to
compete with opposing German aircraft, at low levels anyway.
Nearly 10,000 were eventually completed.

The third is for the Tupolev TU-2. First flown in 1942 as the
ANT-61 but re-named the TU-2 in 1943, the aircraft was designed
by Andrei Tupolev while still indetention. Around 1100 had been
completed by the end of WW2, and production continued after
WW2. It was exported to several countries including North
Korea.

The CD has been scanned from the original manuals. These are
all very colourful manuals and consist largely of illustrations
advising the pilot of the order and method of inspecting the
aircraft, operating the controls, etc.
