This CD contains two flight manuals for Russian helicopters,
long a specialty of the Russian aviation industry.
The first is for the MIL MI-6. The largest helicopter in the
world at the time of its first flight in 1957, the MI-6 was
designed specifically to support mineral exploration in
Siberia. With a maximum weight approaching 100,000 lbs
it can carry 65 passengers in an airliner role and has
auxiliary wings to off-load the rotor in cruising flight.
The second is for the Kamov KA-26, a light utility co-axial
rotor helicopter first flown in 1966. Having two radial piston
engines in external pods, the aircraft featured removable
pods to facilitate rapid changes between roles. Over 600
were produced and the Russians had ideas at one time of
getting Western certification, the reason for the English
flight manual.
The CD has been scanned from the original manuals.
