Frank Piasecki was the holder of the first US helicopter
pilot's licence and he formed his own company in 1943
to develop practical rotorcraft. He developed the first
successful tandem rotor configuration helicopter and
retained this configuration for his subsequent designs.A developed version of his original models flew in 1952
and was ordered by the USAF as the YH-21. Over 500
examples of the H-21 family were built for the USAF
and Army and they formed the basis for the later
Boeing-Vertol series of tandem helicopters.A smaller helicopter using the tandem configuration
but discarding the "flying banana" shape, the HUP/H-25
was developed in 1949, and 339 were produced for the
US Navy and US Army. This CD set contains the flight manual for the YH-21
and the HUP/HU-25. This CD has been copied from
the original flight manuals and retains any colour pages.
