MARTIN PBM MARINER
![]()
The Martin PBM Mariner, company designation Model 162, was designed in
1937 to a US Navy requirement for a new patrol flying-boat. The prototype
first flew in 1939 but the aircraft type was eventually to be used primarily
for air-sea rescue, ASW and transport duties.
There were two main production versions, the PBM-3 using Wright R-2600
Cyclone engines of up to 1,900 hp, and the PBM-5 using the Pratt & Whitney
R-2800 Double Wasp engine of 2,100 hp.
This CD contains three flight manuals for the Martin PBM. The CD has been
scanned from the original flight manuals and retains any colour pages.
