LOCKHEED P-38
LIGHTNING

The unusual configuration of the P-38 resulted from the
original US Army specification for a high-performance
fighter that demanded a speed, rate of climb and range
that could not be met by a conventional single-engined
aircraft. The first P-38 flew in 1939 but development
problems meant the aircraft did not enter large scale
service until 1942, over 10,000 eventually being built.

This CD contains three flight manuals for the Lockheed
P-38 Lightning and covers all the main production
variants.  The CD has been scanned from the original
flight manuals and retains any colour pages.

       series, AN 01-75F-1 dated 1-10-42, revised to 1-9-43,
       approx 77 pages.

2.    USAAF Pilot's Flight Operating Instructions for the
       P-38H, P-38J and F-5B, T.O. No 01-75FF-1 dated
       25-9-43, approx 64 pages.

3.    USAAF Pilot Training Manual for the P-38 Lightning,
       manual 51-127-1 dated 1-8-45, approx 103 pages.
