NORD N2501 NORATLAS

The Noratlas was designed to a French Air Force (Armee de l'Air)
requirement for a replacement for the wartime C-47 and Ju52
aircraft, which were proving unsatisfactory, especially in France's
overseas territories.

The prototype first flew in 1949, initially with French Snecma 14R
engines, but was then re-engined with British Hercules sleeve-valve
engines built under licence in France.

The Armee de l'Air ordered 192 examples of the N2501 version
using Hercules engines, enabling the aircraft to enter production.
Sales were made to several other military air arms including Israel,
Portugal, Brazil and Germany. 425 examples were eventually
produced, including 161 manufactured under licence in
Germany.

We offer two CD's for the Noratlas aircraft, one for manuals used
by the French air force, and one for manuals used by the German
air force.

CD No 1

This CD contains the flight manuals for the Nord N2501 in French
Armee de l'Air service.  The CD has been scanned from the
original  flight manuals and retains any colour pages.

1.    Armee de l'Air Manuel d'Utilisation (Flight Manual) for
       the N2501 Noratlas.
       There are two separate volumes to this manual:
       - Textes - UCD 101 dated Mars 68, 157 pages of the flight
         manual text. 
       - Planches - UCD 101 dated Mars 68, 182 pages of illustrations
         to accompany the text volume.

2.    Armee de l'Air Parachuting Manuals for the N2501 Noratlas:
       - Notice Technique D'Utilisation de l'Avion Cargo Nord 2501
         en vue de l'Aerotransport du Parachutage et du largage,
         Premiere Partie - Description.  MAT 2232/1/2 dated 1963,
         80 pages.
       - Notice Technique D'Utilisation de l'Avion Cargo Nord 2501
         en vue de l'Aerotransport du Parachutage et du largage,
         Deuxieme Partie - Utilisation.  MAT 2232/2 dated 1963 ,
         83 pages.

Luftwaffe service.  The CD has been scanned from the original  
flight manuals and retains any colour pages.

     1C-NOR2501-1 dated 1-11-69, approx 438 pages.  This manual
     follows the USAF format but is in the German language.

2.  Luftwaffe Standing Operating Procedures Part III, Aircraft
     Operating Procedures Noratlas.  Dated 1-10-65, approx 121
     pages, in the English language.
