NAVAL TRAINING
AIRCRAFT

This CD contains manuals on four WW2 US Naval
training aircraft.

Flight Manual for
 the Naval Aircraft Factory N3N.

The N3N was produced by the Naval Aircraft Factory
after being given the task of manufacturing a new
primary trainer designed by the US Navy
. The aircraft
used a lot of re-cycled aluminium from US Navy
airships. 179 examples of the N3N-1 were ordered
in the mid-thirties followed by 816 examples of the
later N3N-3. Used extensively during WW2 a few were
retained as seaplane trainers as late as 1961.

Flight Manual for
 the Spartan NP-1

The NP-1 was was produced by the Spartan Aircraft Co
based on their 1927 civil aircraft against a US Navy
requirement for a two-seat primary training biplane
.
Approx 200 were produced, the only military aircraft
produced by Spartan.

Flight Manual for the Timm N2T Tutor

The Timm N2T-1 used a unique method of aircraft
construction using moulded plywood. The military took
an interest due to the possibility of aluminium shortages.
In the event these didn't eventuate but 260 examples
of the N2T-1 were produced and used as a primary trainer
until 1944.

The CD has been scanned from the original flight manuals
and
retains any colour pages.
