The Kaman "Huskie" series of helicopters employed a unique
system of inter-meshing rotors with control effected by servo-
flaps. The prototype first flew in 1947 and after evaluation by
the US Navy, 29 were ordered as the two-seat HTK-1 trainer.
24 examples of a later four-seat utility model were built as the
HOK/HUK.Development of a turbo-shaft powered version led to the major
production models, the HH-43B/F for the USAF as Rescue
helicopters. Examples were also supplied to several foreign air
arms under the Military Assistance program. The H-2 series of helicopters, known as the SeaSprite, uses a
more conventional layout, though it still employs the servo-flap
method of rotor control. First flown in 1959, later versions are
still just entering service in the 21st century, notably with the
Australian and New Zealand Navies. This CD set contains three flight manuals for three variants of
the Kaman Huskie and one for the SH-2G SeaSprite. The Huskie
flight manuals have been copied from the original flight manuals
and retain any colour pages.
