JETSTREAM
The Handley Page HP.137 Jetstream is a
twin-turboprop
pressurised commuter airliner, designed for the 1970's
United States regional airline market.
At the time of its development, Handley-Page
was the
last major British aircraft company building aircraft that
was not part of the Hawker Siddeley or British Aircraft
Corp conglomerates. Unfortunately, escalating costs and
protracted development of the aircraft led to bankruptcy
of the company.
Development was taken over by Scottish
Aviation, who
themselves became part of British Aerospace in 1978.
The aircraft found success in the 1980's
and over 400
were eventually built. The original aircraft scored a rare
success with a USAF order as the C-10, but none were
delivered before the order was cancelled. Small batches
of both main variants served with the RAF and Royal
Navy as trainers,
This CD contains
the RAF Flight Manuals (titled Aircrew
Manual) for the early Astzou powered Jetstream T.Mk.1
and the later Garrett powered Jetstream T.Mk.3. The
latter Flight Manual is based on the civil BAe Operating
Manual in two volumes. There are also 3 manufacturers
brochures on the later BAe built aircraft. The CD has been
scanned from the original flight manuals and retains any
colour pages.
