LOCKHEED F-80
SHOOTING STAR
![]()
The F-80 was the first jet fighter used operationally by
the USAF, and one of the first aircraft developed by the
Lockheed Skunk works under the legendary Clarence
Johnson.
The prototype was designed around the British Halford
jet engine and first flew in January 1944. However
development problems meant the aircraft was too late
to see action during WW2.
The aircraft saw extensive action during the Korean war
and helped usher in the jet age at the USAF. Over 1700
examples were eventually built, and it formed the basis
of the T-33 two-seat trainer and the F-94 all-weather
fighter.
This CD contains three flight manuals covering the
Lockheed F-80. This CD has been scanned from the
original flight manuals and retains any colour pages.
