De HAVILLAND DH82
TIGER MOTH

Flight Manual for the De Havilland DH82 Tiger Moth

The De Havilland DH82 was the British equivalent to the
ubiquitous Piper Cub or Boeing Stearman, a cheap and
cheerful primary training aircraft.

Developed from the original DH60 Moth, an aircraft which
first flew in 1925 and started the beginning of private flying
in Britain and the rest of many parts of the world.

The main difference with the new DH82 was the new inverted
Gipsy engine, and the placement of the wings. With the
previous straight wings, access to the front cockpit was
constricted, so by increasing the sweep of the top wing this
was greatly improved.

The aircraft found favour with the RAF, and by 1939 they had
1,000 in service. By wars end over 4,200 had been delivered
and the majority of RAF pilots trained in England had received
their primary training in a Tiger Moth.

Nearly 8,500 examples were produced in total, including 1747
in Canada, 1085 in Australia, 345 in New Zealand, 91 in Portugal,
37 in Norway and 23 in Sweden.

This CD contains civil and military manuals for the DH82 from
England, Australia and Canada.  The CD has been scanned from
the original
flight manuals and retains any colour pages.

Flight Manual for the De Havilland DH82 Tiger Moth

This CD contains:

1.   Pilots Handling Notes for the D.H. Tiger Moth, produced by
the Society of British Aero Clubs, undated with 11 pages.

2.   Manufacturers Manual of Instructions for Operation,
Maintenance and Rigging of the De Havilland Tiger Moth
(D.H.82), publication TIM.1, (first Australian Edition), undated
but from the late 1930's, approx 30 pages with 12 fold-out
      drawings at the back.

3.   Manufacturers Manual of Instructions for Operation and
Maintenance of the De Havilland Tiger Moth D.H.82C,
