SAMARITAN
The C-131 series was
based on the Convair 240, 340 and 440 series
of twin engined
airliners. Large numbers were operated by both the
US Navy and the
USAF in several variants over a period of over 25
years.
This CD contains two
flight manuals for the Convair C-131, one
the standard US
Navy transport variant, and the second an
experimental turboprop
powered USAF variant. The CD has
been scanned from
the original flight manuals and retains any
colour pages.

1. US Navy Flight Handbook
for the R4Y-1 and R4Y-1Z, NAVAER
01-5MRB-501, dated 15 Dec 57, approx 290 pages. (The "Z"
indicates a VIP transport, applied to a single example. These
variants were later re-designated C-131F and VC-131F)
2. USAF Utility Flight
Handbook for the YC-131C, T.O. 1C-131(Y)C-1
dated 10 Aug 1955, approx 160 pages. (Only 2 examples of the
YC-131C were produced.)
