CHASE YC-122
AVITRUC
![]()
The YC-122 arose from USAF continued post-WW2 interest in
cargo gliders. The Chase CG-14 was selected for further develop
-ment and an enlarged all-metal variant was produced as the
XCG-18. A powered version was also produced as the YC-122.
The USAF lost interest in gliders but continued development of
the YC-122. 18 examples were produced of several models using
different engines and other minor variations. The USAF then decided there was no future for small cargo
aircraft and cancelled the project. The remaining aircraft were
used as utility aircraft with one example later forming the basis
of the Hiller X-18.This CD contains flight manuals for all variants of the YC-122.
The CD has been scanned from the original flight manuals and
retains any colour pages.
