The Beech King Air was
developed in the mid 1960's from the earlier
Queen Air by fitting
PT6 turboprop engines and using a lengthened
pressurised fuselage.
The potential for the aircraft was seen by the
military who have
procured a large number of different versions under
various designations.
The earlier Model 90 King Air models were used
by the US Army
as the U-21, by the USAF as the VC-6 and by the US
Navy as the T-44.
Military models were usually unpressurised.
In 1972 Beech developed
an improved Model 200 Super King Air model
which incorporated
a T-tail, larger wing span, higher weight, more
powerful engines
and greater fuel capacity. These have seen service
with several US
forces in many different roles as various variants of the
C-12.

flight manuals for several US Army military
variants of the
Model 200 Beech King Air, and one for the US Navy
training variant
of the Model 90 King Air.
