DOUGLAS DC-6 + C-118
![]()
A more powerful, stretched and pressurised version of the DC-4, the
DC-6 first flew in 1946, initially as a military transport designated
XC-112A. Too late to participate in WW2 the type was developed for
post-war civil airline use as the DC-6.175 civil DC-6 examples were built and as these were replaced in the
late 50's by the first generation of turbo-prop and turbo-jet airliners
they were sought after by operators in the lower echelons and
remained in service for many more years. Numerous examples
continue to serve as fire bombers in the Western US. 166 examples
were built for service in the US military as the C-118 and these served
until 1965.This CD set contains the manufacturers flight manual for the DC-6 and
the military flight manual for the C-118. The CD set has been scanned
from the original flight manuals and retains any colour pages.
