BOEING B377
STRATOCRUISER
![]()
The B377 Stratocruiser was a civil development of the
C-97 transport, itself a development of the Boeing B-29
bomber. Using the entire wing and powerplants of the
B-29 the first variant first flew in 1944.Only 55 examples of the B377 Stratocruiser were built
between 1947 and 1950. The main operators were Pan
American and BOAC who used the aircraft on the North
Atlantic route. The B377 did not have the rear cargo
hatch of the C-97 and for this reason the B377 was used
as the basis for the "Super Guppy" oversized cargo
conversions. This CD contains four manuals for various airline variants
of this magnificent aircraft, has been copied from the
original flight manuals and retains any colour pages.
