HARRIER  
   

Based around the unique Rolls-Royce Pegasus vectored-thrust
turbofan engine the Harrier was the first practicaloperational  
VTOL jet attack aircraft.

First flown as a researchaircraft known as the P.1127 in 1960,
six prototypes were built, three of which were lost in non-fatal
accidents. Nine examples of an improved version known as 
as the Kestrel were then built, also used for evaluation 
including a combined UK/US/German evaluation squadron.

An operational version known as the Harrier entered service
with the RAF in 1969. Six of the original Kestrel aircraft were
sent to the USA for further evaluation, as the XV-6.  

The US Marines recognised it's unique capabilities and it
entered service with the Marines in 1975. It was also exported 
to Spain.

The later AV-8B version was developed jointly with McDonnell
-Douglas and British Aerospace Systems  with a larger wing
and a night operational capability.

CD's have been scanned from the original flight manuals and 
retain any colour pages .

     dated May 1965 with approx 128 pages. (Known as the  
     XV-6 when under US evaluation.) 

3.  RAF Operating Data Manual for the Kestrel FGA.MK.1  
     at AL2 dated 22-2-66 with approx 91 pages.
